Provides day care services for children between the ages of 2 and 4years. Staffed by highly qualified early childhood
specialists and accredited by New York City. Children at age 4 qualify for Universal Pre-Kindergarten funded by the NYC
Board of Education at no cost to families.

Intermediate Care Facility licensed by NYS Office of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities, providing residential
care, treatment, education and vocational planning.

Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA’s): a series of professionally managed homes for 6 to 8 adolescent to young
adult developmentally challenged residents. MIV provides residential habilitation training for these young people to
allow them to become increasingly self-sufficient, active members of the community.

Day Habilitation Program
|
Provides developmentally disabled young adults with supervised volunteer activities in the community with Seaview
Hospital, the Parks Department, the NYS DEC and residents of the South Shore of Staten Island in preparation for
vocational training. Funded by OMRDD with admission offered through that State agency. |

Non-residential services operated by MIV for children diagnosed with autism, pervasive developmental disorders and
developmental disabilities interfering with social and educational growth.

Gymnasium Program
|
Local parishes and recognized community youth organizations continue to utilize Mount Loretto’s Drumgoole Gymnasium for
basketball and indoor soccer activities. A minimal fee is charged to offset the cost of maintenance and operating
expenses. |

CYO/MIV Community Center
|
Created by a partnership between MIV, the CYO and the NYC Board of Education, this facility provides regular gymnasium
facilities for the P.S. 3 Annex during school hours and recreational, social and cultural programs managed by the CYO.
CYO and MIV coordinate special events such as meetings and fund-raisers in the facility for a wide range of community
groups. Construction funding was provided by the Borough President’s Office, the City Council of New York and the Empire
State Development Corporation through State Senator Marchi’s offic, and MIV

Father Drumgoole-Connelly CYO Summer Day Camp
|
The CYO operates a summer day camp on the magnificent grounds of Mount Loretto for children 6 to 14 years of age. Father
Drumgoole once said, “If the heart is not cultivated, all is lost.” This camp is dedicated to his memory and strives to
help children reach their full potential as loving human beings. In a safe, caring environment campers will play, learn
and grow. In 1997 the CYO expanded its services to include a special children’s camp.

Catholic Charities Family Resource Center
|
MIV provides a home for this collaborative effort between Catholic Charities Behavioral Health, Parish Community Outreach
and Sisters of Charity Healthcare Services. Family therapy and financial assistance for families of World Trade Center
Disaster victims were the primary services first offered by Catholic Charities here, but these now extend to all South
Shore residents.

St. Vincent’s North Richmond Community Mental Health Program
|
St. Vincent’s North Richmond Community Mental Health Program operates an outpatient clinic in this facility. The clinic
is staffed with mental health professionals who provide mental health services to the residents of the South Shore served
by OMRDD programs.

Mount Loretto Friendship Club
|
The Tottenville and Pleasant Plains Senior Citizen Friendship Clubs joined Mount Loretto’s spectrum of social services
being offered to the community. A leasing agreement with the New York City Department of Aging and a building renovation
grant from the Staten Island Borough President’s Office allowed MIV/Mount Loretto to avail its facilities to
approximately 200 seniors a day.

P.S. 25R/South Richmond IS/HS
|
All student placements are from the Committee on Special Education. Currently the school is serving 15 students from the
Staten Island Mental Health Day Treatment Program, 42 students from intermediate schools, 49 students from high schools
and 5 from PS 25/D31 collaborative program. Academic, vocational and work study programs are offered.

P.S. 3 Annex
|
P.S. 3 Annex is located on the grounds of the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin and serves approximately 269
third-graders. A rotating library, resource room, speech therapy, school based support teams from each school, breakfast
and lunch programs and an art program are all contained in this building. A play yard at the rear and side of the
building, equipped with basketball hoops and entirely fenced in for safety, supports all physical education activity.

Project Hospitality
|
In partnership with MIV, Project Hospitality provides shelter for persons in transition from rehabilitation programs back
to independent living in the community. Consumers of this service sleep in the Convent shelter, but are active in
vocational and job placement programs during the day.

St. Edward's Food Pantry
|
The Franciscan Handmaids of Mary operate a food pantry at Mount Loretto, serving those who are in need of assistance.
The collection of food is coordinated with the help of local parishes and volunteers and distributed to needy individuals
and families.
